On Friday 20/3/09 Moorgate (Thameslink) closed to passenger services as part of the Thameslink upgrade. These photos show trains on the branch in early March and on the final evening. The last timetabled departure was the 1906 to Bedford worked by 319009/319214, the very last departure was the 1954 to Kentish Town worked by 319364/319365. The 1954 normally runs as ECS, thanks go to FCC for operating it as a final commemorative train and for providing special commemorative tickets.

Photographs taken at the Battlefield Line & Great Central Railway Diesel Galas and at Barrow Hill Roundhouse. Home fleet locos were in use at both galas with guest loco 20166 at the Battlefield Line and 37190 at the Great Central.

On Saturday 2 August 2008 I travelled on the Donny PSB charity charter train. These pictures show the train before and after the tour and during the break at Barrow Hill.

Pictures taken at the ARHS North Williamstown Railway Museum on 23/2/08 and then on 9/3/08 at the Steamrail Victoria open day at nearby Newport works, Melbourne. A variety of stock was on show with a demonstration freight train and a preserved electric loco and EMU operating under their own power.

A collection of railway pictures in & around Melbourne & Sydney, Australia. Melbourne is an excellent place for enthusiasts, suburban services are EMU operated by Connex and many regional and interstate trains are still loco hauled and there are some excellent vantage points for taking photographs in the city.

Pictures from the Oozlum Bird No2 railtour which ran from Victoria via a circular routing around South London then to Alton and over the Mid Hants to Alresford returning to Waterloo. Locomotives were GBRf 73206 & 73209 with EWS 37422 on the ECS moves and D6593 (33208) which assisted the train on the Mid Hants.

On 14 November 2007 Eurostar moved from Waterloo to St Pancras International. I travelled to Brussels Midi on the first commercial service to leave St Pancras. Also included are pictures taken on a HRT Eurostar charter in 2006.

On Saturday 26 May 2007 UK Railtours ran a railtour named Dr Syn which visited Grain, Folkestone Harbour & Dungerness. The train was top & tailed by EWS 66035 & 66237. These pictures show the train at Folkestone Harbour.

On Saturday 25 March I caught up with three railtours. Firstly 50049 & 50031 at Derby with Pathfinders ' Redmire Rambler ' then at Chesterfield for a Birmingham - Scarborough charter with 47815 & 47847 followed by 47712 & 47832 on the Blue Pullman. In the evening I caught up with 50031 & 50049 again at Sheffield on the return 'Redmire Rambler'.
